Ice Baths at the Strange Gym

Although ice baths are not for everyone, they do have a multitude of health benefits for the majority of people.

Some of those benefits include:

✨Decreased Muscle Soreness.
✨Increased Perceived Recovery.
✨Faster Recovery from Intense Cardio.
✨Improved Recovery from High Impact Training.
✨Reduced Cardiac Stress.
✨A Stronger Immune System.

Last but not least…

✨A grand escape from the North Hollywood heat.

We recommend five to six 25 pound bags of ice per person, per bath. A maximum 3 minute submersion, and a maximum of 3 trips inside the ice bath.

To control your breathing when you first get in, try a method called “box breathing.”

Other tips: clench your fists, make sure to slide your shoulders and traps all the way in, have a visible timer, stay very still, and for those who dare - dunk your whole head in.
